I Dip, You Dip, We Dip

Standard

Below are three great dip recipes for future gatherings.  The first is From Tarah B. and it is super easy and delicious.  I made this for New Years and it was great, but the only side note is to start the dip a couple of hours in advanced if you are cooking it entirely in the slow cooker.  The other two recipes are from a recipe exchange e-mail chain.  I have not tried them yet, but the sources are credible so I am extremely excited to “dip” my toes (or fingers) into these…… don’t judge me for terrible humor…….

Tarah’s Jalapeno Corn Cheese Dip

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped jalapeno
  • 1 lb bag frozen corn

Preparation:

Place all ingredients in slow cooker on low and stir occasionally until melted.  Note: Use slow cooker liners, they save lives people!

Blair G.’s Beer Cheese Dip

  • (2) 8 oz cream cheese
  • (1) 1 oz package ranch dressing mix
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can pale ale or light beer (or to taste)

Preparation:

Mix everything together.  Can be served hot or cold.

Tyler T.’s Homemade Onion Dip

  • 2 lg yellow onions
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • Olive Oil
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 oz mayonnaise
  • 4 oz sour cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese (room temp.)

Preparation:

Saute onions in butter and oil, add salt, pepper, and cayenne.  Cook until golden brown & caramelized (be careful not to burn the onions).   Drain the onion mixture, and add to the mayo, sour cream, cream cheese mixture.  Serve with your favorite chip, crostini, or pita.
